Max von Seidow made his screen debut in 1949 but the more important thing is that he joined the Malmo City Theater. He became an instant international sensation which Ingmar Bergman predicted like this guy is going to be a big, big star and he didn't want to do it. His English is so good that when he uses it effectively in these moments, it's a joy to listen to because you're watching him in the Swedish. And then he's just one of those actors that every time he shows up, he's great. Every time.
