The Consequences of Visibility in the Trans Industry

I feel like the industry is obviously not as inclusive, not anywhere near as inclusive as it needs to be and should be. It's about every facet of power behind the scenes that people watching aren't necessarily cognizant of. And I feel like until there's major shifts in those spaces, it's hard to make the degree of change that really does need to happen. Visibility does lead to more backlash and it's the most vulnerable members of the community that are disproportionately affected. My experience as a trans person does not reflect the majority of trans people's experiences who disproportionately deal with unemployment, experience homelessness, violence, incarceration,. particularly black trans women.
