The End of the 100 Years of Humiliation

Vancouver used to feel like a British colony in the nether regions of a declining empire. Now Vancouver is Asia and it's very exciting, just like Shanghai must have felt between 1920 and 1947. When I walk around Vancouver now, in the rain with my hood up, not observing very, very much thinking, this is actually a little bit like Blade Runner.
