The Importance of Christ in Wealth Preservation
Before Christ, we did not even consider the individual a social role. We had was, uh, they called it the powder familias. The father could kill his children in broad daylight in the streets and it was completely and totally legal because they were his property. He literally physically owned the family. It was like a tribal, patriarchal society. After Christ, through legal reforms, um, through St. Paul and like this whole lineage of spiritual teachers, the martyrs, where they gradually reformed the law such that we started to recognize the individual as the primary social unit.
