Is There a Silly Mindset in Antibiotics?

Sometimes we'll just say, I mean, nothing's growing, but this dude's really sick and he's getting better. So let's just give him seven days of zosin and call it a day,. But that's only kind of right and acceptable if you're willing to get rid of it when things kind of settle out. If the mindset becomes like, well, we've been on it, we might as well continue it, then that's how you end up with the one day of empiric antibiotics that stretches out into two weeks or something.
