Colors are the lovers over their opposites and friends of their neighbors. What is across the wheel from orange on the traditional color wheel would be blue. If I was painting an apple, and I needed to make it darker, I'm not going to grab green because green is just a delicious red. It's maybe even going to shift toward brown, where I need to make it go dark. So when you're trying to muting color or going across the wheel, that's what it's referred to as. And again, artistically speaking, I love complimentary color."
