The Inability to Create Real Urban Fabric
I think modernism more or less didn't care about the city because modernism lost the idea of the city in the first place. I'm not sure if we have ever created a true urban part of a city anymore that feels and functions as a real extension of a city. Western Garden Cities are just Garden Cities, so it's a habit and it's not a city. There's not much variety in the urban atmosphere in its inhabitants. And if you would have a more urban feel, you would have great difference between the people who live there and the way they communicate with each other.
