Bud Dwyer faced up to 55 years in prison and a $300,000 fine. The cost of the trial which lasted for six weeks reportedly exceeded $200,000. As his sentencing date approached, Bud became somewhat of a recluse. He remained in his house for weeks with a shades drawn sitting in his favorite recliner. His 21-page diatribe against the criminal justice system was a scathing attack on those who had wronged him.
