How Do We Get Better at Kicking a Football?
We need physical movement to give us that sensory knowledge of the effects of our movements. But once we have some experience physically, we can use motor imagery to really prime our motor systems by working on the planning and the motor programming stage of our moves. So when we come to physically execute the movement, we're already fine-tuned and we're ready to go.
