Is There an Intervention of the Gods?

In the pagan view of the culture in which Titus lived you could hopefully find deliverance from this burden by showing yourself worthy to the gods. If you did, if you did the work there might be an intervention. There's a Greek word for that and it's actually the word that Paul uses in this passage several times, unappearing. It's the classic word the Greeks used to describe an intervention of the gods. So show yourself worthy and maybe, just maybe people get an intervention that can deal with that burden.
