There was not a full autopsy that was done, which is really what they were trying to avoid. Spain again was officially neutral, but they had specific targets that they knew were working out of Spain. And if they could make it happen that that these known corrupted individuals were placed in a room with it, then the assumption was that it would get in the hands of the Nazis.
