How to Build a Battleship

Every complicated project is a relay race. You can't start your part until the person before you finishes, or at least gets close enough that you can do what you need to do. The critical path works like this, there are certain steps in the project that will slow down the entire project and must be taken care of first. And it's really simple: If you're not on the critical path, you're not getting anything done. Too often we get hung up trying to invent more stuff than our invention is important.
