Andrei Krupchenko's First Crime

In 1973, Andrei lured a nine-year-old girl named Yelena Zakatnova to an abandoned house he'd secretly purchased for the sole purpose of slaughtering young girls. He choked her before stabbing her repeatedly in the chest and stomach. When she was dead, he picked up her corpse, carried her to a nearby river, and tossed her in the water. The local police were extremely reluctant to indict a member of the Communist Party, which Andrei had joined several years previously.
