Is There a World Without Anyone Losing?
In the post-war period especially, everyone got into this growth politics, like the politics of growth. And it's obvious why because it suggests that you can have a world without anyone losing. If we can, the faster we can grow, the more people can share in prosperity and the fewer political questions there are. But as returns on capital have declined, the richest people, high asset value elites, have done pretty well Because they've managed to take of a shrinking economy.
