Propensity Scores Are One Implementation of a Class of Methods to Adjust for Confounding
There are variables that are associated with the treatment and the outcome that are not confounders. And in fact, adjusting for them would be the wrong thing to do. What we would love to do is find a way to achieve balance on all those coveriats. Propensy scores are one implementation of a class of methods called co varied adjustment.
