From the 18th century onwards, they have used a very careful strategy of expansion. It's also been geopolitical, actually, in a very clear sense. So what we see with Ukraine and how they claim it's sort of this sort of salami sliding is quite cleverly done. And it works on the basis that most people on the West, by the way, have no historical grounding in these areas at all.
