The Most Common Unilateral or One-Sided Facial Paralysis
Trigeminal neuralgia is the most common unilateral or one-sided facial paralysis. It's not necessarily painful, but people will have some drooling and losing food because they can't use those muscles on that side. The trigeminal nerve is a sensory nerve so when you have trigeminal Neuralgia, that means pain on that trigeminal nerves. So you're going to have very, very severe pain on that side of the face,. either side of theface, but just one side.
