I think what we really care about in these conversations, it's not race. It's doing something so as to acknowledge in our policy the difference between someone who grew up like me and somebody who grew up with much less advantage. And then the next question becomes, what is the best proxy for that thing? What's the best proxy measurement? Is the best way to actually get at that to just put all the black people on this side and put the white people on this Side and treat them differently?
