The blue line is the feds holdings of treasury and agency securities from the start of 2008 through the second, through the first half of 2009. As you can see, not really moving until you got into kind of February of 2009. Red line shows the S&P 500 with the percentage arrows up for each bear market rally that we experienced from Jan 08 through the middle of 2009. It could turn into QE in principle, but only if things go really bad from here.
