Political Dialogue With China - What Do You Think?
In syria, it should be possible to do both simultaneously. But while we're not fighting, we are competing, and more vigorously than before. It shouldn't be impossible us to talk. I think the difficulty is that we, in the west and the united states, have been under the mistaken impression that by talking we could resolve fundamental differences. We've invested a lot of energy over the years in high level dialogues. The s and e d and i can't even remember all the names of them, they didn't have any impact on the trajectory that china was following. That doesn't mean we shouldn't talk or can't talk.
