History of the 90s

00:00

Introduction

The term Grunge is synonymous with the Seattle music scene of the 80s and early 90s. Mark Arm, who would later go on to front Grunge Band's Green River and Mudhoney, first used the term in a 1981 fanzine letter. In 1984, he co-founded Green River, which is considered to be one of the first Grunge bands. The earliest Grunge all shared a pretty similar sound. Joining Kathy Kinsora for part one of a two-part series are Alan Cross and Jeff Amundt from Pearl Jam.
