Hey Sarah! When (and how) do I…teach writing, take my kids to the library, require a teen to read?

CHAPTER

The Watermelon Effect

The watermelon effect is the idea that when you have an option to go on your phone or read, it requires less willpower. So instead of putting out the watermelon and the ice cream on the same table, you just take off the ice cream and say, right now we're having watermelon. And I do this in my house where I never tell the kids what they have to read. The time is set aside for them. They go usually do it on their bed. Although they can also go on a couch and they can read or listen to an audio book but that's the only option for QRT.
