The Side Effects of STN Stimulation in Parkinson's Disease

It sounds like the side effect profile is pretty similar as we might talk to our subthalamic nucleus DBS patients about. With STN stimulation, you can change the programming, you can modulate. Those patients with generalized motor fluctuations or dyskinesia are better candidates for deep brain stimulation. I don't think that there is one technique which is better than the other. This is just another tool, another therapeutic tool that we have and we have to learn how to use it properly.
