The Myth of Apuleus
The myth is so interesting because in any kind of detailed form or really like in almost the entire form itself, it appears exclusively in this Roman author. All I ever talk about is what's missing, fragmentary, what have you. The first translation, the Golden Ass, the Sarah Roode translation to the listeners. That's the one I used in the old episodes. Like it is absolutely the best translation. She really, I think, hones in on the wackiness of Apuleus,. Only in Apuleus can you get like, scatological donkey humor and these transcend invisions of celestial goddesses.
