The Brochen - The World's First TV Tower
The brochen is often claimed to be the inspiration for mesorsky's night on bald mountain. Gota included the brocken in his famous play faust, faust reads. Brochen would become the site of the world's first t v tower which broadcast the 19 36 olympic games. The town had a spa famous for its chloride and ferris waters. It also held a number of radio stations during the cold war, on the border between east and west Germany.
