The Importance of Being a Camera Operator

I decided to be the main camera operator nearest him at all times because I think that's the way you make the best verite films. Because of my musical background and how much I've been in the studio, I just have that experience to know when to not get in the way or not move. But even if I thought Jason was in a bad mood or slept the night before at a hotel and didn't go home and things weren't going well, I would kind of just push forward. So we were there every day and they never asked us to step back or anything.
