Germany is a crucial part of the sanctions regime against Russia. The idea that these relations could sink any lower seems quite odd to me. I thought it was a surprisingly muted response from Russia. It doesn't mean there won't be a further response later on today or tomorrow. But my guess is that Russia really is in quite a hole here and the idea that it's going to do anything other than the test of it is fanciful to me.
