Kip down to verse 13. Now, in the fourteenth year of king hezekiah, did senachrib, king of assyria. So that's the new king here. Senacherib came up against all the fenced cities of judah and them. And there is a world of drama in that very simple line. In fact, i i must wonder if the writer is keeping the simple on purpose. Cause this was a hard thing to write there. The vast majority of judah is ravished. This is bad. We have outside sources, outside the bible that give us an even bigger picture of how bad was. You can go to lakish to day
