After 9 11, there's only this sustained period of indecision, of suffering without conclusion. And what the united states has done ever since is to deny that there was any relationship between us, hegeminy in the middle east and nine 11. It doesn't excuseNine 11, but it does mean that, without addressing it and redressing it, america is going to make this entire problem worse.
