Detecting Planets in Other Stars
One way we can detect planets is to look for stars that twinkle periodically. That kind of tells you, hey, maybe it has a planet swinging around it. You need really sensitive telescopes to even notice that these things are dimming. And so if you see a star out there dimming and being eclipsed regularly, it might be a planet in its orbit.
