The New Jesus Christ

As a nation becomes wealthier, it becomes less reliant on a super being and church attendance goes down. The closest thing we have to mysticism or religion or God-like attributes is from technology. Google is our new God. Steve Jobs and arguably Elon Musk are the new Jesus Christ. And they're just not held to the same standards as other individuals. So you collide technology and billionaires and you end up with our new idols. They get in front of Congress and use weapons of mass distraction. We need to do better. Regulate us. Please regulate us.
