NATO Is Not Just a Cold War Opposing Entity
NATO has all of those larger connotations of it being into the Cold War opposing entity. Putin has always seen NATO as being the direct correlation of the Warsaw Pact, which is another words, just something dominated completely by the United States. And we see that now with the entry of Finland and Sweden, they didn't want to join NATO for a long time. But once they thought their security was really at risk, they wanted to be part of it. So this is where we see the United States waffling about as well, trying to kind of like figure out how to handle this.
