The Week in Art

Fermi Was an Art Dealer in the City of Delft

Johannes Fermier was a Dutch artist who died at the end of his life. He painted 45 or so paintings in his whole life but they are very different from each other. His wife says that he fell into a frenzy going from healthy to dead within a day and a half. The idea that he took six months to paint one painting I think isn't correct, it could have taken only one month for him to complete them all. Light and Reflection is published by Bloomsburg University Press on September 25th 2014.
