The History of the Truffle Festival

World War I and World War II both are major events in truffle hunting because it's kind of dangerous to go walking around out in the woods. By the 1920s, French truffle production slipped down to a tiny fraction of what it had been. Truffle production dropped in Italy too for a lot of the same reasons. But some people were still eating truffles. They still loved them. Today, when really big truffles are found, it's a national news event. Tomorrow, so the Vizakshin House is selling the largest truffle ever recorded. The white truffle nickname, Big Boy, was found in umbria region of Central Italy.
