Data protection and privacy is very much influenced by history and culture. How privacy is looked at in the us might be different from how, for example, the europeans look at it. Large mounte nationals that opera world wide will be a lot more mature in their internal practices. But when you talk about smaller companies, especially those that are in asia, we need to recognize that they probably need a bit more help from governments.
