The Future of Blood Pressure Monitoring
The likelihood that any IV will survive the whole case is probably less than if you have a supine patient in which you have control over all the limbs. So you definitely need reliable and redundant access. Do we ever use monitors like NEARs or cerebral oximetry to try to guide blood pressure management during these cases? To date, that remains outside of our standard of care. But stay tuned folks. A lot of people working on that.
