Medical teams worked around the clock to keep these patients alive while families watched helplessly from afar. Most were not allowed on to the covid wards to prevent the infection from spreading. Even just the soothing words of being read a letter or message from their families was helpful all save for the staff to see that person as a human being with family and relatives and interests and jobs. Over the next hour, you'll be hearing the voices of people who've been on the covid front line as doctors and health care workers,. Patients and family members, or, like me, as a hospital chaplain. I'll leave each one of them to tell their own stories and to build the bigger picture,
