The first European government to legalize abortion was revolutionary Russia as far as I can research. An anarchist became the first man, the first woman minister of health and like one of the first women ministers in government in Europe. And then Franco successfully invaded the second Spanish Republic and it was a whole war thing that happened and it didn't really go very well. Spain got fascism instead of legalized abortion. So close to getting it right. But when you start throwing birth control into it too, it becomes so obvious that it's not about morality, but social control.
