The First Amendment guarantees our right to free speech. But that doesn't extend to true threats, a category of speech that includes incitement to violence or symbolic acts like cross burning. Both examples you listed spreading misinformation and threatening election workers are covered by these unlawful exceptions to speech. I just happen to lean very strongly in favor of letting that kind of speech live and be criticized.
