Do You Think That Death Is Related to the Death of a Child?
Mortality was 30% for children up until the age of 15. The best evidence I've found is letters about children's illnesses. And it's clear there that parents are worried about their children's health and are doing what they can to deal with illnesses. We also know from an earlier theory, from the study of medieval graves and human remains, that children with severe disabilities grew up to adulthood. That can only affect them because they were cherished by their parents, despite the disability. So I think all the evidence is pointing towards the fact, as you would expect, that human nature doesn't change.
