Sally Kohn: The welfare state reduces geographic mobility in the United States. She says states are going to be kicking 15 million people out of Medicaid, and they'll see a lot of sob stories about it. Kohn: This plays out just like you would expect in a culture that is obsessed with altruism. Why do we keep resorting to statist, redistributionist, altruistic remedies?
