The Philosophy of Cryptography
The way you describe cryptography is very beautiful philosophically. When I think about it, it blurs with cryptocurrency and what I think about is that scene in the Matrix where the green letters and numbers come up. Probably the application that we all use the most every day is just sending a credit card number over the Internet. We need to be able to encrypt our data in such a way that it can pass through all those hops and not be vulnerable to if somebody reads it along the way.
