Outgrowing Prometheus

Prometheus is the recommended monitoring tool for cloud native environments. By default, there isn't really a high availability and horizontal scale built into prometheus by default. Other projects in the c and s, such as cortex and thanos were created to solve some of these problems. When we created m three, the open source metric platform that came out of uber it was also sort of approaching it from this different perspective. But it is really built for a more scaleable environment.
