I love this book a lot. I think that by calling it the American dream there is a implication of not impossibility but of like unlikeliness that that is certainly not been realized yet. There is a weird scene at the end where Lenny hallucinates a giant rabbit as well as his dead aunt Clara and I am never ready for it every time. So yeah, it's a great book.

To celebrate ten (10) years (!!) of Overdue, this month we'll be re-doing some episodes based on books we read way back in the show's early years. This week we revisit our first-ever episode, talking about men, isolation, and tragic best friends who triumph against the odds.
