The higher these ratios go, the less easy it probably is to read the text. Short, common, simple words tend to have a fewer syllables. But then if you get into more technical writing, where there's a lot of different terminology and a possibly liss or even run on, sentences like the one that you'd find in the transcript would be difficult to understand.
