Anscombe: Hume was wrong, but he pointed out some valuable things that set up some interesting problems to explore. She says the idea of fitness of gratitude and beneficence actually might be a perfectly legitimate thing. Anscombe: It's recognizing what it is that gratitude and benevolence fits. You can acknowledge the individual, what we might call moral facts, but don't crowd them together in this class of moral facts.
