Is There Beauty in Our Suffering?

In attachment theory, there's this idea about ambivalent attachment. The way that our primary caregivers related to us in infancy and early childhood sets the pattern often for how we relate to others later in life. It can kind of look like in adulthood, you really, really, really want to be close with someone. And when they come towards you, it's like, no, get away from me. This is tied to very early bonding patterns, even if they are ambivalent or disorganized with parents, with primary caregivers.
