The Importance of Multiple Types in Programming
Marshall: I'm surprised that this is not implemented in more of the popular array languages. He says if you do some simple expression, like a two times one plus some array, you end up necessarily with a copy or an allocation each time you do those two scalar operations. Adam: You could fuse things together, which is commonly known as like stream fusion and other languages and libraries. Marshall: This is all it's all about fashion. It's just not fashionable.
