The Importance of Forward Thinking in a Competitive Environment
Don't underestimate the amount of resources that are being put into this by a company like Microsoft. There's also a first mover advantage from a contracting perspective, et cetera. One of the things that really drove the decision making over the finish line was a deep belief, at least at the time I was there, that this was inevitable. The requirements that what Microsoft was committing to was simply what everyone was going to have to do.
