Zhu Yigui was a Changzhou Hokkian who came to Taiwan in the 1710, so did well for himself down in the Gao Xiong area as a duck farmer. The officials who served the Qing government in Taiwan were notoriously corrupt, excessively so. In 1721 they went a little too far with their squeezing and this duck farmer, Zhu Yigui, he put his foot down in about 50 like-minded individuals swore oaths to avenge the injustice and unwarranted treatment from these local officials. This disturbance only lasted a couple of months before the Qing forces were able to put an end to it. These are some of the major cities on Taiwan's west
